Check in and see how much water you’ve had today! This is the easiest thing to rule out that commonly causes headaches. You should be drinking half of your body weight in ounces per day. For example, if you weigh 150 pounds, you should be drinking 75 ounces per day. If you drink coffee or a caffeinated beverage, that substracts from your total amount.
If this seems impossible for you, start with drinking 1 glass more than you usually do. You’ll find that as you do that consistently, you’ll get to where you can drink more over time.
Try a headache SNAG. What’s that? You can find the link included with what that looks like here. You can also just work on tucking your chin down and holding 10 seconds, 10 times. The goal is to make the best double chin that you can for the best stretch. This will strengthen the front side of your neck while stretching the base of your skull, a great thing to do for tension headaches.
Step 3: Call a physical therapist! Ultimately, there are so many possible causes to headaches that I can’t cover in one blog post. If the above 2 steps do not cause any change, I suggest getting a personal evaluation to find the cause of your specific headaches. You can set up a free discovery call here!
